Dear International Dance Family,
The global spread of COVID-19 is a matter of concern to us all. It is essential to seize this opportunity and this time to slow down and take a step back, to re-imagine the world and dance, to
recharge, refresh and create. In these troubled times, the cultural world, here and abroad, has responded with extraordinary creativity and resourcefulness. The Agence Mickaël Spinnhirny’s
priority is to ensure the health and safety of our collaborators, artists and team, around the world. We regularly monitor, check, and assess current conditions, and closely follow the directives
of national and international health authorities. All our shows are cancelled until June 30th, 2020, and we update our calendar daily: www.spinnhirny.com/calendrier
It is our duty and privilege as artists and cultural workers to inspire optimism and hope in the world. In collaboration with the companies we represent, the Agence invites you to experience a
different dance show, in full, every week, from the comfort of your sofa. To find out more about our initiatives, visit: www.spinnhirny.com/actualites
STAYING THE COURSE
For an agent, the financial risk associated with international sales of cultural products on a commission basis is extremely high. Since the outbreak of COVID-19, we have lost 50% of our
commissions for the 2019-2020 season. Driven by a team of six proactive employees, we are putting all our energies towards rescheduling shows and focusing on our communications and administration
services, specifically to support our associate artists in these challenging times.
The performing arts world is severely affected by the current context. We, professionals in the field, artists and presenters alike, are faced with a complex reality. As such, we are choosing to
address the situation in the most positive and constructive way possible. In these challenging times, our community needs to pull together. To get through this crisis, the dance world has to be
guided by values of openness and sharing. A supportive, more empathetic and less competitive environment.
LOOKING TO THE FUTURE
The Agence’s first and foremost priority is human welfare. We want to thank our team, artists and presenters for their remarkable efforts in moving forward into the upcoming seasons and remaining
optimistic in these challenging times. Take care of yourself and your loved ones!
